| How should I maintain my Hedgehog sheath? |
- Your leather sheath requires little maintenance aside from keeping it dry or drying it out if it should get wet. While all Hedgehog sheaths are treated with a water repellent finish, it is still important to dry them out if your sheath has been submerged or exposed to a heavy rainstorm. Oiling your sheath is a good practice as well but should only be done occasionally. Excessive oiling will cause the fibers of leather to become too soft which will then cause the sheath to lose form. A thin coat of oil can be applied sparingly if the leather seems overly dry, but it is always preferable to error on the side of less. It is also important to keep the inside of the sheath free of dirt, sand, or any debris that could scratch your knife. Always wipe debris away from your knife before resheathing it. On occasion you may brush out the inside of the sheath or simply blow any debris out using the drainage hole.

| Are the sheaths I see on the website compatible with many different knives? |
- Every sheath you see on this site is theoretically compatible with a variety of knives, however we discourage using these sheaths to carry any knife other than the specific intended model. Pairing such a specifically made sheath with a random knife will most certainly result in fitting problems like loose spots and closure straps that are too tight or too loose. For this reason we strongly encourage you to pair a Hedgehog sheath with its specific counterpart knife. If you don't see your favorite knife listed, please Recommend a knife and we will consider it for our future sheath lines.
